The first time I heard of Marie-Chantal Children’s wear was when I was in London in 2006 on holidays.

I wasn’t a mum at the time, but I had just become Godmother to my precious Goddaughter Katerina- and wanted to spoil her rotten.

As soon as I entered this gorgeous little boutique in the heart of London- I was absolutely in love with the adorable clothes, amazing personalised service and I also remember spending over an hour in this stunning store- deciding which lovely items I would purchase and bring back to Katerina in Sydney.

Marie Chantal Children’s wear was actually established 13 years ago by HRH Marie Chantal- the ever-so-elegant and flawless Crown Princess of Greece and Princess of Denmark.

Marie-Chantal draws inspiration from being a mother of five (to one girl and four boys) and her label features practical yet fun, fresh and contemporary designer clothing for babies and children up to the age of 12.

This charming children’s label has now become an international hit and loved by celebrities, royals and everyone who adores beautiful children’s play-wear, day-wear and evening-wear- in styles that are classic yet striking for little ones.

Mummy’s Life & Style (ML&S) asked the CEO of Marie-Chantal Children, Joanna Binder what she believes makes Marie Chantal Children’s wear so beautiful and lovely for kids to sport?

“We really understand what kids want to wear and combined with the level of detailing and unique MC style- our clothes are beautiful but still very wearable,” says Joanna.

This years Spring/Summer 2014 collection is filled with colourful must-haves for every occasion. Designed in London and crafted from the finest fabrics, these contemporary-yet-timeless pieces are ideal throughout the warmer months.

“Our Spring/Summer 2014 collection is full of zesty summer colours and ballet inspired party dresses,” adds Joanna.

Featuring gorgeous gingham checks, sweet lemon and orange dresses and cute jersey tees with hand-drawn graphics for the casual days- we are also fans of the classic nautical style- which has been given a modern twist with seersucker jackets, rope-detail shorts and anchor-print tops.

For evening- girls can choose from a range that is inspired by ballet, fantasy and fairytale- making it ideal for weddings and other special occasions. Little ladies will adore the delicate chiffon ruffles, pleats and sparkles- while any little man will look suave in the range of relaxed cotton suits.

We also previewed the Marie-Chantal Children Autumn/Winter 2014 collection and are very fond of the new MC floral prints, frill blouses and girly shirt dresses.

MC has also introduced their new outerwear collection, including down filled jackets, wool pea coats, parkas and leather aviator jackets- ideal for the cooler months of the year.

“Our Autumn/Winter 2014 collection was inspired by the magical world of story telling,” says Joanna.

One of our favourite items available from Marie-Chantal Children all year round, is their signature angel wing onesies- these heavenly baby rompers come in both Summer and Winter styles and we think they are the ultimate gift for a newborn.
